Skills needed as a Cyber/Infosec expert not directly related to cybersecurity
There are skills in cybersecurity that do not necessarily connect to infosec but are still needed as an expert in this field
1. Reading skills, when reading man pages and help docs https://www.iedunote.com/reading-techniques
a. Scanning
b. Skimming
c. Detailed Reading
--etc.
> Reading comprehension is very important as a cybersecurity expert because there will always be a lot of research, reading, and testing. Learning does not end in this field
2. Patience (Some actions take hours, even days!)
> Not all actions in this field are instant. Very few things work as soon as you click them, not to mention there will be a lot of research in between. Make sure you are patient enough to do a task and willing to wait
3. Courtesy (when dealing with other professionals) https://www.inc.com/business-insider/email-etiquette-rules.html
> You have to be patient not just as a reader but also as a professional. Professionalism is key to proper interaction with companies you work with, not to mention other cyber experts
4. Principle https://www.kaspersky.com/resource-center/definitions/hacker-hat-types
> You have to know your morals. What is right to you? What is wrong to you? You have to set boundaries on what you are willing to do, or what you are willing to protect. Remember that you cannot always do everything all the time.
5. Social/communication skills https://www.orbitmedia.com/blog/start-conversation-online/
> Social skills are important in every field that includes human interaction and infosec is not an exception. You can't protect others if you can't manage to talk to them.
